How To Make Enchanted Envelopes

Materials List
purchased fabric placemat
contrasting fabric
metallic thread
embellishments
ribbons
Instructions
1. fold placemat in half ....approx. 13"x18"
2. stitch up sides with metallic thread, using blanket stitch
3. cut 2 - 12" x 12" fabric squares, using contrasting fabric
4. stitch all 4 sides with metallic thread, with wrong sides together,using blanket stitch with a 1/4" hem turning inwards, keeping a straight seam on right sides of fabric
5.fold square in half, placing center fold on top center of envelope, stitch the back of the square on the back side of envelope, using blanket stitch with metallic thread
6. steam press all work flat.
7. add any chosen or desired embellishments at this time, create your own theme, example" postscript, sewing, baby, wedding, etc.
8.add a 30" piece of folded ribbon in half with a loop at top center of envelope, this would be the hanger....
9. your envelope is completed and ready to hold letters, notes or jewelry for a pretty keepsake.
10. u can hang or place envelope on a vanity or table, its not only a enchanting envelope, its a functional piece of altered artwork as well...!!!
